La Mercè Festival – Barcelona, Spain

La Mercè is an annual festival in Barcelona that lasts for several days and the city comes alive all day and all night. It celebrates the Catholic feast day of Our Lady of Mercy with parades, competitions, music, and fireworks. The parade of the “Giants” was super fun for us all to see as they made their way down La Rambla right below apartment balcony!  The actual feast day is September 24th, but the celebrations begin a few days before.
